Adrián Katzew

CEO

Mr. Katzew serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Zuma Energia, a firm he co-founded in 2014 together with private equity firms Actis and Mesoamerica. Zuma is the leading Independent Power Producer in Mexico, with more than 800 MW of wind and solar projects in operation and construction.

For over 15 years, Mr. Katzew´s career has focused on financing, construction, development, and management of renewable energy projects across multiple countries. Adrian is committed to make a significant contribution to the energy transition into competitive and sustainable renewable energy resources, he is also committed to enable a future where the economic progress allows sustainable environments, and the renewable energy industry is a relevant engine for investment, economic growth and job creation.

Prior to founding Zuma, Mr. Katzew was Vice President at Vestas from 2010 to 2014, the global leader of wind power technology. As the leader of Vestas for Mexico, Central America and Caribbean Group, he initiated the activities in the region, managing all commercial activities, overseeing construction and operations. At Vestas, Mr. Katzew was responsible for the execution of over 1000 MWs, including the first wind projects across several markets, such as Guatemala and the Dominican Republic, and in several states within Mexico. Previously, he was Vice President of Market Development at Firs Solar, the leader in thin-film PV technology, in Europe, Middle East and Africa, where he was responsible for the expansion of the activities of the firm across new markets.

Mr. Katzew commenced his career in the energy sector at Banco Santander in Madrid, where ultimately he became the Executive Director, with global responsibility for the project and acquisition finance for power and renewable projects. His team was the leader for more than 3 billion US of financing.  At Santander, he was responsible for opening many new markets, such as France, Germany and the US, and leading the firm into the structuring of innovative technologies and financing structures, such as concentrated solar power.

 
 
 

José Luis García

José Luis´ experience and technical skills have earned him leading directive and managerial positions in multinational companies, such as Element Power, Iberdrola, Isolux and Endesa for the past 20 years. Through his career, he has developed more than 3.0 GW of wind, solar and biomass projects. Over the years, he has incorporated, resourced, represented and administered more than 50 entities in Mexico, Chile, Italy, Spain and Qatar.

José Luis heads Zuma´s efforts to contract competitive, large-scale projects and to participate in upcoming auctions and to explore and develop new market opportunities. He successfully led Zuma´s development team to contract 800 MW at the 2nd auction and executed the 50 MW Ingenio Wind Farm located in Oaxaca.

 
 
 

Hélène Dimitracopoulos

CFO

Hélène began her career in the power sector as purchase and sales engineer at Engie 15 years ago. When she moved to EDF Energies Nouvelles, her deep understanding of the sector and her financial background fostered her rapid growth at this company. In only five years she managed to transit from project manager to CFO of EDF Renewables for Mexico. During this time, she evaluated and negotiated acquisitions & partnerships and project financing for projects totalling 324 MW.

As CFO of Zuma Energia, Hélène heads all financial related activities: controlling, financial reporting, project valuation and modelling, implementation of project finance and obtaining asset management, including market operation. Her knowledge on financing and her network with banks led Zuma Energia to reach project financing for the largest wind power project in Mexico (424 MW), as well as two solar farms with total capacity of 344 MW, mobilizing more than $900 million from development and commercial Banks.

 

 
 
 

Petros Lamprinos

COO

For more than a decade, Petros collaborated at Vestas, leading construction projects in Greece, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. His experience led him to oversee all aspects during the construction stages as head of safety, projects’ financial performance, contracts and risk management and communications.

Petros is currently running the execution of three simultaneous projects in different locations in Mexico: Tamaulipas, Sonora and Chihuahua; and manages the operations of the company in Oaxaca. His proven track record in highly challenging social environments and under complex contractual negotiations has significantly benefited Zuma Energia as all three projects will be constructed ahead of time.

 
 
 

Gianluca Liuzzi

ESG Director

With over 20 years of experience in the power, oil & gas and heavy industries Gianluca has gained insight on the development of numerous projects. He has led global health, safety, environmental, quality & security in large EPC companies and turnkey projects with positions of increasing responsibility both in Italy and Mexico.

He has a background in elite army units and vast experience in developing, implementing and certification of environmental, quality, safety and health management systems. Currently, Gianluca is responsible for the design, implementation and management of Zuma Energia’s health, safety and environment (HSE) and social strategy, as well as security operations.

 
 
 

Diana Sasse

General Counsel

Diana´s legal knowledge of the industry in both German and Mexican systems has propelled her as a unique asset for the energy sector. For over 15 years, she has gained vast experience in development and financing of renewable energy projects and regulation of the electricity sector in Mexico. Before joining Zuma, Diana led the legal teams at Tesla and the Mexican legal firm Goodrich, Riquelme y Asociados.

Diana oversees negotiations, agreements, legal documentation and permit and authorization management related to the development, acquisition and financing of projects for Zuma.

 
 
 

Ramón Salcedo

DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL STRUCTURING

Ramón began his career at PwC in Madrid, Spain. He later moved to Mexico to become Senior Consultant of Capital Markets Group and Financial Advisory Services at KPGM in Mexico City. He later joined Banco Santander where he was responsible for the origination and structuring of non-recourse financing transactions for 5 years.

Ramón banking background was key as Zuma positioned itself as the leading independent renewable energy producer in Mexico: first by overseeing the company´s participation in the auctions and in the process of becoming the first company to secure project financing. He is currently responsible for the sourcing and structuring of non-recourse and structured financing at Zuma.
